Apple is set to host an event to launch some products later today and is expected to announce new iPad, MacBook, and more. Among others, Apple could launch the updated Pencil 2 with new features and design.
A popular leakster Ben Geskin has tweeted an image of what looks like the upcoming iPad along with the new Apple Pencil. While the design of the iPad seems to be in line with the previously leaked images. It is the Pencil that could come with features like gesture support etc, it could be magnetically attached with the iPad and could charge there as well.

- Design is even more minimalistic, the silver rail on top is now gone.
- Tap and Swipe gestures along the pencil.
- Magnetically attachable to the new iPad.
- New charging method. pic.twitter.com/tS1ptCWgnh
So, it looks like the tablet may have some smart magnetic connectors on the right side which can hold the pencil in place and charge it up while not in use. It is said that the Pencil may also get a proximity pairing feature like the AirPods while the earlier Pencils had to be plugged into the charging port to pair with the tablet.
While we can’t get more information on this at the moment, however, if this leak is to be believed, the new Pencil may also not feature the silver lines on the top as found earlier.
We will not have to wait longer to get a confirmation as the Apple event will start in just a few hours from now. Stay tuned for our detailed coverage of the event.

What's the weight of the new Apple Pencil 2? When it comes to tools like a pen, it should carry some weight so it gives you a better grip and handling ease.
The smart magnetic connectors will not only hold the pencil, but also charge it, while it's not being used. So you get it charged while you actually need to use it.
