Apple starts selling battery cases for iPhone, XS Max, and XR

16 January 2019 2

Apple has silently started selling smart battery cases for iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR. All these three iPhones were launched in 2018. This is the first battery case since Apple first started selling a battery case for iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s.

These smart battery cases for iPhone are available in either black or white color options and end up adding some bulk on the phone making them thicker than normal. Though the case is not as bulky as the old battery case for iPhones were but it comes with wireless charging support.

As per Apple, the case for iPhone XS offers up to 21 hours of internet use or 25 hours of video playback, the iPhone XS Max case offers up to 20 hours of internet use or 25 hours of video playback, and the iPhone XR case offers up to 22 hours of internet use or 27 hours of video playback.

Unlike third-party battery cases, since these are from Apple you always check the cases’ battery life in the notification center as you’d check the battery status of your AirPods. Apple is selling these cases on its website right now at a premium price of $129 and will be available in stores from January 18.
