Samsung Galaxy Sport may come without the rotating bezel

Samsung is rumoured to be working on the Galaxy Sport smartwatch and renders of the device have leaked online. The images hint at a big change for Samsung smartwatch designs. It will have a round chrome watch face, with two physical buttons and a rubberized strap.

The upcoming wearable will be Samsung’s first sports watch since the launch of the Gear Sport in 2017. and its first-ever sports watch under the Galaxy smartwatch brand. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch saw a good response from critics and the Galaxy Sport would be similar to it and will come with its proprietary Tizen operating system. The upcoming watch may come without Samsung’s signature rotating bezel as it doesn’t seem to appear in the leaked device render.

The rotating bezels can be found on recent Samsung smartwatches and help in interface navigation. Swiping on the touchscreen display or using the physical buttons could possibly achieve the same software effect as rotating the bezel. The Galaxy Sport is a potential sports watch, so it should be dust and water resistance and will come with other fitness-related features like an activity tracker, sleep monitor, step counter, heart rate monitor and GPS. It will have 4GB of internal storage and will come with Samsung Bixby support.

We ask our readers to take the leak with a pinch of salt till the specs are confirmed by the company. The watch could be unveiled along with the Galaxy S10 series at the Unpacked event on Feb 20, ahead of MWC 2019 later this month.
