Redmi AirDots wireless earbuds launched in China

19 March 2019 2

Xiaomi had introduced its first truly wireless earbuds a few months ago, the Mi Airdots. Now the company has launched the Redmi Airdots which cost just CNY 99 ($15/€13). The new earbuds are affordably priced for any Bluetooth headset and are half the cost of Xiaomi AirDots.

The Redmi AirDots are the first earbud model under the Redmi brand and are available in Black colour. The buds are Bluetooth 5.0 enabled and feature 7.2mm drivers. They have a built-in DSP which offers “environment noise reduction”.

The controls on the earbuds allow different functions. You can double tap to summon the voice assistant, and it even works with Siri on the iPhone and Google Assistant on Android devices. They deliver up to 4 hours on life and come with a carry case which extends that to 12 hours of play time. It charges 40mAh battery in 1.5 hours, and the 300mAh battery in the case needs 2 hours of charging time. Each bud weighs just 4.1 grams which makes it easy to carry.

The Redmi AirDots will be available in China from April 9, 2019, on the official store. As of now, they are available only in black colour. It remains to be seen whether the Redmi AirDots will make their way to India and other markets.

Xiaomi Mi AirDots Youth Edition Wireless earphones were launched last year in November for CNY 199 and are available in White colour.
