With the sheer number of gadgets, we carry with us, it is imperative to carry a portable power backup with you. In fact, power banks these days are equally important as the primary gadgets we use. Recently, TAGG, the brand best known for its lifestyle accessories, has launched a high capacity power bank in India. The TAGG Turbo 20000 as the name suggests, offers 20,000 mAh portable power backup for your devices. Interestingly, Xiaomi's power bank which also uses a '20,000' in the name has an output capacity of just 13,000 mAh.
Anyways, We recently got one of these at Mobilescout and here’s a detailed TAGG Turbo 20,000 mAh power bank review.
The box contents are pretty straight forward:
- Power bank
- And a Micro USB charging cable
The TAGG Turbo 2000 mAh power bank comes in a sleek metallic body. Thanks to its ergonomic design, the otherwise heavy power bank is easy to carry. On the top, it has two USB type A out ports and a micro USB port to charge the power bank itself. A power button, LED charge indicator and illuminated TAGG logo sits on a strip that runs down the length of the power bank. The bottom is port less. The power bank does look elegant in its all black avatar.
While the power bank weighs 370 grams in all and is slightly taller than any regular smartphone these days, however since the weight is equally distributed, it is easy to carry along and easily slips in your pocket.
The TAGG Turbo 20,000 comes with 6 Li-ion cells of 3350 mAh each and offers fast charging support. While the company doesn’t supply you with a wall charger, we used a Huawei fast charger capable of charging devices rapidly to tank up this power bank. It would take close to 10 and a half hours to charge fully from 0 to 100% and does not heat up at all while charging up, unlike quite a few others available in the market. The company claims that the power bank comes with a safety suit to avoid overheating, circuit abnormalities and voltage fluctuation, this advanced circuitry helps to keep the temperature under control.
The TAGG Turbo 20,000 power bank supports two 2.4A output charging ports, which means that you can fast charge couple of smartphones, tablet, headphones or another gadget in one go. I was able to charge my smartphone, which has a 3,550 mAh battery, over 5 cycles easily. Neither my phone nor the power bank showed any signs of heating up.
Dual fast charging is the USP of TAGG Turbo 20,000 power bank apart from the sleek design and durable build quality. The company is offering a 1-year replacement warranty compared to Xiaomi’s Mi Power Bank which offers just 6-months warranty. While the weight is a turn-off, but then it is acceptable for power backup you’re getting enclosed in a metal casing. At a price point of Rs. 2499, the TAGG Turbo 20,000 portable power bank can be bought from Amazon India or TAGG's official site and is worth the price you pay.
