Google has been improving its Android Wear OS platform for a while now. The company has resolved a number of issues faced by users, however, there is one problem that a number of users have been facing on the platform over the past weeks.
PunikaWeb’s several users have stated that are unable to use Google Maps on their Wear OS smartwatches. A number of users stated that they were simply greeted by a blank white screen with the Google Maps UI still visible.
The issue was not they’re on the Huawei Watch 2, however, according to the report, the Fossil Q Explorist HR, Skagen Falster 2, TicWatch Pro, TicWatch S2, as well as Tag Heuer and Misfit smartwatches were affected by this bug. The report hasn’t revealed what the cause of this bug is, however clearing the app’s data and reinstalling the app has seen no success.
Last week, A Mobovi Forums Admin suggested that the issue was with the latest version of Google Maps v10.13.3 and some users have rolled back to the previous update. Users simply need to uninstall the updated Google Maps app and sideload version Google Maps V. 10.12.1 from APK Mirror.
A Wear OS Product expert has escalated the problem to internet giant Google, however, there has been no update on the problem since then.
