Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 gets YouTube app, coming to older models

06 August 2019 0

One of the highlights of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 other then the rotating touch bezel is new app availability. This is the YouTube app that the tiny screen of the smartwatch will play. Interestingly, the same app is also coming to Samsung’s other Tizen-based smartwatches. But there’s no timeline set for them just yet.

With the help of this app, users can access YouTube videos with search, get a full-screen viewing as well. The app can also take advantage of the speaker if available too. This app has been optimized especially for the smartwatch, so, the app will have fewer features for the users to access. However, the most basic one which is search is available.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be the only app to feature this new app alongside the Twitter app when it gets available in September. Others in the league that include the Galaxy Watch, Gear Sport, and the Gear S3 smartwatches will receive it soon but the exact timeframe isn’t known.

Samsung launched the new Galaxy Watch Active 2 smartwatch ahead of its Galaxy Unpacked event. It’s expected that the company will officially unveil the device in front of everyone at the event which is primarily set for the Galaxy Note 10. Currently, it just announced via a blog post and a promotional video. It’s expected that Samsung will demo the new smartwatch to everyone at the event. So stay tuned and come back to know when your version of Tizen-based Samsung smartwatch will receive the YouTube app.
