A part of the smartphones industry is getting highly inclined towards gaming and its aspects. Several manufacturers have started developing dedicated gaming phones and some even have a completely special series for the same. Meanwhile, Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei has launched something so that its followers could utilize their gaming chops better.
Honor hasn’t announced a special-purpose gaming phone nor does it already have any such device in its portfolio. It has rather launched a snap-on gamepad so that you could play games with ease.
The Honor GamePad which is basically a controller connects to the phone via the USB Type-C cable, but that’s only for charging. The main work is done over Bluetooth. The GamePad has a built-in 400mAH battery to keep your phone charged up during the intense gaming sessions. The physical connection with the phone also allows it to draw power in case it needs.
The Honor GamePad has a physical joystick, 4 D-pad buttons, a shoulder button, and an extra-wide cylindrical-shaped button. One can customize them for games, depending upon how one feels comfortable in using them.
Honor hasn’t yet shared the pricing, availability, and even the list of smartphones which are compatible with it. However, it did say that it will sell the accessory in Western Europe this year.
