Huawei hasn’t only launched a new powerful flagship processor at IFA but also third-generation of the FreeBuds, its truly wireless earbuds. The audio accessory that looks almost identical to Apple’s AirPods come in a circular puck-shaped charging case.
Huawei claims that FreeBuds 3 is the world’s first noise-canceling headphones with an open-fit design. The noise-cancellation helps in blocking the sounds from getting into the ears. Huawei emphasizes on the comfort of the FreeBuds 3 and said this factor has been taken as a priority.
Together with the FreeBuds 3, Huawei also launched the chip that powers this accessory. Called as A1 chip, it supports the Bluetooth 5.1 standard is designed to offer lower latency and power consumption compared to other Bluetooth chips. As found in the early impressions by the visitors at IFA and on the booth of Huawei, the FreeBuds 3 needs to be paired by tweaking the Bluetooth settings.
The chip is capable of offering a dual-channel Bluetooth connection, which means up to 30% lower latency and 50% lower power consumption. Once charged, the FreeBuds 3 can give up to 20 hours of battery life.
