15 October 2019 0

Google has finally come up with its truly wireless earbuds to give some competition to existing products in the market. These are Google Pixel Buds with the smaller form factor. The pair actually looks similar to recently launched Microsoft Surface Buds from outside with circular shape but with a smaller size. However, the Pixel Buds have curved shaped and actually looks like a tiny version of Nest Mini from outside. In fact, the colors are similar to Google Home Mini (1st gen) or the latest Nest Mini.

The overall design of the Pixel Buds is impressive and while launching the product, Google first shared a glimpse at all the design and engineering went behind it.

Google says it scanned thousands of ears and come up with this design which is comfortable and securely fits. Google also particularly highlighted the unique hybrid design that helps you isolate the loud outside noises and also lets you hear the right amount of environment that matters. This happens with the shape of the ear tip that seals the noise and spatial vent that allows a certain amount of sound to pass in. And, with the help of Adaptive Sound, Pixel Buds can adjust the volume automatically, according to the environment.

The most important feature of Pixel Buds is hands-free access to the Google Assistant. So, you just need to say “Hey Google,” and proceed by asking the remaining task to accomplish. You can play a podcast, send texts, and translate a foreign language all by just Pixel Buds without taking out your phone.

Each Pixel Bud includes a microphone for clear calls while suppressing other sounds in the background. Also, Pixel Buds have a voice accelerometer that can detect speech through the vibrations of your jawbone and as Google stated, this setup will help you to be heard even in windy conditions, like when you’re running or doing other rigorous exercises.

Another feature Google put forward is the long-range Bluetooth connectivity that can connect with devices even if you’re staying three rooms away indoors and outside, it can recognize even in a football field. Pixel Buds pair easily with Bluetooth 4.0+ laptops, tablets, and iOS devices., and with your Pixel phone and other Android 6.0+ devices.

Also, Pixel Buds offers you 5 hours of listening time on a single charge and with up to 24 hours with the wireless charging case. They are sweat and water-resistant, so they can withstand your heavy workout sessions without any issue.

Price and availablility

The price of the Pixel Buds is $179 and it will be available in 2020. They will come in four colors: Clearly White, Oh So Orange, Quite Mint and Almost Black.
