Apple is rumored to be working on third-generation AirPods for quite a long time with release expected to happen sometime in 2020. But as per a new report from China Economic Daily, Apple could announce the AirPods Pro with noise cancellation by the end of this month.
The use of 'Pro' moniker is meant to make the new-generation AirPods fall in line with Apple's newest iPhone and iPad models. It will also work as a sign for customers to know that the new AirPods Pro are more feature-rich than the standard ones. The biggest difference will undoubtedly be the addition of noise cancellation that users will be able to adjust as per their needs or preference.
The AirPods Pro are reported to feature a new metal design that will help in better heat dissipation. There will be a new in-ear design to improved wearing experience. These new offerings are said to cost about $260 which is significantly more expensive than the current-generation AirPods. Apple is currently selling AirPods with a standard charging case for $159 and with a wireless charging capable case for $199.
Since Apple is rumored to hold an October event to announce some new products, the report expects we might see an AirPods Pro announcement at the same event as well. But with only 10 days to go and no official press invite from Apple yet, the chances of such an event happening are becoming slimmer with each passing day.
