Apple AirPods Pro has gained the first firmware update since its release. There is no new feature or any specific change that has come to notice, nor has the company shared any changelog regarding the same, so, it is a bit difficult to tell what comes along.
The new wireless earbuds that were launched in October got shipped with the firmware version 2B584 and the latest firmware is 2B588 version. The minor revision number suggests that the firmware carries a small bug fix or a possible enhancement of something which needed to be addressed.
The new firmware installation happens automatically when the AirPods Pro is connected to an iPhone or iPad. So, you do not need to follow any specific steps to get it installed. Also, there is no specific update mechanism available that could force an update to AirPods Pro. But you can check the firmware version number to see if there is any change in the previous or new firmware version number.
If you want to check your AirPods Pro firmware the open Settings on your iPhone with our AirPods Pro connected. Tap on the General then About. Scroll down below your iPhone’s EID number and you’ll see an AirPods Pro entry. This will not only show you the firmware version but also the model number and serial number.
