DJI which is known for its flying camera drones has unveiled the Super 35-format Zenmuse X7 drone camera for $2699.
The Super 35-format Zenmuse X7 drone camera can work seamlessly with the Inspire 2 drone. The X7 has a large 23.5mm x 12.5mm Super 35 sensor along with the new DJI Cinema Color System (DCCS) developed with Technicolor which the company says will provide better colour science to the DJI shooting experience.
The drone camera also features DCCS' new D-Log Curve and D-Gamut RGB colour space which provides a more dynamic and greater colour grading flexibility. DCCS will be available for both the X7 as well the company’s previous drone camera the X5S.
The X7 features interchangeable carbon fibre lenses of 16mm, 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm focal lengths with f/2.8 maximum apertures. The 16mm lenses come with a built-in ND 4 filter, which the other lenses feature mechanical shutters. The X7 weighs 631 grams with the 16mm lenses and allows Inspire 2 to fly for up to 23 minutes.
"The Zenmuse X7 offers everything professional content creators need to make their aerial footage as stunning and vivid as they demand," says Paul Pan, Senior Product Manager at DJI. "From the large Super 35 sensor to a new mount, lenses, and color system, the Zenmuse X7 gives cinematographers and professional photographers an unmatched set of tools that work seamlessly with the DJI Inspire 2 drone to capture high-quality footage that is easily integrated into projects shot with industry-leading handheld cameras."
