03 April 2018 2

Acer has announced the arrival of two new PC products Aspire S24 and Nitro 5 in the United States. The first one is an All-in-One desktop offering which it claims to be its slimmest ever release and the second one is a gaming laptop powered by 8th-gen Intel Core processors.

Starting with the Acer Aspire S24, it is a 23.8-inch All-in-One desktop with only 0.235 inches side profile. It boasts 90% screen-to-body ratio and looks almost bezel-less which gives it a premium look which is further complemented by the matte gold color scheme. It sports a Full HD IPS panel with 178-degree viewing angles for a better viewing experience. It supports Acer's ExaColor tech for color saturation along with BluelightShield and Flickerless technologies to reduce adverse effects on user's eyes.

In the US, it has been released with 8th-gen Intel Core i5 processor and 12GB dual-channel LPDDR4 RAM. On the storage front, it offers up to 1TB storage space. It comes with a base which doubles up as a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad. It means if you own or use any mobile device which is compatible with Qi's wireless charging standard, you can use the Aspire S24's base to charge it while continuing to work on your project.

Other noteworthy features include two 2W 2.1 channel speakers powered by Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Audio Premium technologies. It comes with three USB 3.1 Gen1 Type A ports, a USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C port, and a USB 2.0 port. Acer has priced the Aspire S24 at $879.99 (MSRP) with sales starting this month itself.

Now coming to the Acer Nitro 5, it is a gaming laptop aimed at delivering the premium gaming experience while offering the freedom of portability. It has been packed with 8th-gen Intel Core i7+ processor (Core i5 and Core i7 options also available) which makes it one of the few gaming laptops to feature it. It offers the choice of choosing from NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050Ti GPU for handling graphics intensive processes. It has a 15-inch display and boasts Intel Wireless-AC 9560 2x2 802.11ac along with Gigabit Ethernet.

Acer has priced the Nitro 5 at $749.99 for the base model featuring the Intel Core i5, NVIDIA GeForce 1050GPU, 8GB RAM, and 1TB HDD. It will cost $849.99 to those who might be interested in GeForce 1050Ti GPU and 256GB SSD. It is yet to make details public for Core i7 models.
