As we are getting closer to the Computex 2018 in Taiwan, Acer is continuing with the releases of its newest gaming PC offerings. It has already announced Predator Orion 3000/5000 and Predator Helios 500/300 gaming PCs. But that's not it as it has now taken wraps off Helios 500 with AMD Ryzen 7 and Nitro 50 gaming PCs.
Starting with the Acer Predator Helios 500, it was initially unveiled with Intel Core chipsets but this time around, the AMD Ryzen 7 2700 chipset variant has been unveiled. It further has AMD Radeon RX Vega GPU with 8GB of memory. This is the biggest change between the two variants. The display remains the same 17.3-inch 4K panel but with Radeon FreeSync tech instead of NVIDIA G-Sync technology.
All other specifications and features remain the same as the Intel Core variant. There is a difference in the pricing as it starts at $2199 which makes it $200 expensive. It will go on sale starting August which is in three months from now.
Next, we have the Acer Nitro 50 gaming PC powered by the same AMD Ryzen 7 2700 processor. There is an option to choose from up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580 GPU. It further offers up to 3TB of storage and Qi wireless charging compatibility. The chassis of the PC feature Red-colored LED light to give it the gaming feel. It has been priced at $899 with sales starting September.
