Acer has come up with many different products at IFA in Berlin, including a new version of its Windows Mixed Reality headset. The name of this headset is OJO 500 and it includes a more modular design with detachable parts. Thanks to this detachable design, the headset is easier to clean. It comes with either hard or soft washable head strap.
The Acer OJO 500 Windows Mixed Reality headset has an integrated audio system that focuses sound on the ears, thus eliminating the need for headphones. The software-assisted interpupillary distance (IPD) ensures the display is set at the optimal distance from the wearer’s eyes. .This will make the VR apps and games in Windows Mixed Reality a little clearer and sharper as well. The OJO 500 has 6-degrees of freedom which means the headset will be able to track your location as you physically move left, right, forward, backward, up, and down.
It has two 2.89-inch LCD displays with 2880x1440 pixels resolution. It has a refresh rate of up to 90Hz that delivers clear and realistic images for an immersive mixed reality experience. The integrated audio system design directs the sound from the built-in speakers toward the wearer’s ears. The integrated audio system consists of embedded speakers, a patented sound pipe, and a built-in mic array.
Acer’s OJO 500 headset will be available in both the US and Europe in November starting at $399.
