Acer has become the newest brand within this week to announce a bunch of new Chromebooks for students. HP did the same about a couple of days ago and now, Acer has taken wraps off a total of four Chromebooks. Two of these new offerings are convertibles but all of them are durable enough for school purposes.
The newly announced products are Acer Chromebook Spin 311, Chromebook Spin 511, Chromebook 311 (C721), and Chromebook 311 (C733). There is no prize for guessing that the first two are the ones with convertible capabilities. Both of these can be tilted at different angles depending on the user's preference or need. These can be used as a laptop, tablet or tent mode with ease.
All of these Chromebooks sport an 11.6-inch IPS display but the Spin variants also offer touchscreen input support. This makes sense considering that they are meant to be used as a tablet as well. Both Chromebook 311 models feature AMD A-Series A4-9120C processor with Radeon GPU. As for the convertibles, these are available with dual-core Intel Celeron N4000 and quad-core Intel Celeron 4100 processors with integrated Intel graphics.
These Chromebooks are compliant with MIL-STD-810G certification. It means parents/guardians and teachers will not have to worry about their kids breaking them easily. These further feature spill-resistant keyboards which are another relief. There are no words on the pricing yet but these will start shipping sometime in Q2 2019.
