23 May 2019 1

Acer has announced new and refreshed Nitro 5 and Swift 3 laptops packed with second-generation AMD Ryzen processors. Both these laptops are aimed at those who are looking for power as well as improved graphics performance. The Nitro 5 is essentially a gaming laptop and Swift 3 is a thin-and-light notebook.

Staring with the Acer Nitro 5, it sports a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with 80% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, it is powered by a 2nd gen AMD Ryzen 7 3750H processor along with Radeon RX 560X graphics card. It means if you are specifically looking for a gaming laptop, this one might be the right choice for you.

It has an HDMI 2.0 port and a USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 port among other connectivity options. There is support for Acer CoolBoost technology to keep the laptop temperature cool even during extended gaming sessions. To help improve the online gaming experience, it has Acer Network Optimizer which ensures that lag is as low as possible.

As for the Acer Swift 3, it has a 14-inch Full HD display which is relatively smaller than the Nitro 5. It will come with AMD Ryzen 7 3700U processor along with Radeon Vega graphics. It is claimed to offer "power and efficiency for getting work done with effortless speed". This is primarily for those who are looking for the best productivity even on the go.

Acer has not shared any details regarding the pricing and availability of both these laptops. These details are expected to become public during Computex 2019 in Taiwan.
