Acer Predator Triton 300, Triton 500 laptops, Thronos Air gaming chair launched

04 September 2019 0

Acer's Predator lineup for gamers has been updated with new products at IFA 2019 in Berlin. The major attraction of the keynote is the Predator Triton 300 gaming laptop which is aimed at entry-level gamers. It also announced updated Predator Triton 500 gaming laptop and all-new Predator Thronos Air gaming chair.

Acer Predator Triton 300

As said in the beginning, the Acer Predator Triton 300 is the newest entry-level gaming laptop from the brand. It is aimed at those who love to game but can't afford to buy the premium offerings. Just like the Triton lineup, this one also focuses on being lightweight and thinner while offering powerful performance.

Acer Predator Triton 300 Specs and Price:

  • 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with 144Hz refresh and 3ms response time
  • 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processor
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM (upgradeable up to 32GB)
  • Up to two 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD storage in RAID 0 and 2TB HDD
  • Backlit keyboard with dedicated Predator Sense and Turbo keys
  • 4th Gen Acer AeroBlade 3D metal fan cooling technology and CoolBoost technology

Acer Predator Triton 500

If you are one of those gamers who pay a lot of attention to refresh rates, Acer's refreshed Predator Triton 500 gaming laptop might just be the right choice for you. This new gaming laptop boasts a 300Hz display which is faster than many of the fastest gaming displays out there. This is a significant upgrade over the 144Hz display available with the predecessor. It has a 15.6-inch Full HD display combined with an insane refresh rate that should help you stay ahead of the curve, especially in fast-paced games.

Under the hood, it has 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics card. But despite all the hardware components, it is the 300Hz refresh rate display that remains its highlighting feature. It is also true that there are not many games that will be able to support this refresh rate and more importantly, only a few will be able to tell the difference between 300Hz and let's say 240Hz displays.

Nevertheless, if you are interested in owning the best hardware out there, you will be able to get the new Predator Triton 500 for a price of $2,799 in the United States and EUR 2,699 in European countries starting December and November 2019 respectively.

Acer Predator Thronos Air gaming chair

The Acer Predator Thronos Air is marketed as a gaming chair but in reality, it is much more than it. It is essentially a gaming workstation or you can even say a cockpit for the gamers who can afford to buy it. This is because it has been priced at $14,999 which is undoubtedly expensive but a lot cheaper than last year's version of the chair that cost $30,000.

With this "gaming chair", you will get a monitor arm that can house up to three monitors depending on your need or preference. It has an adjustable keyboard and mouse tray along with a cable management system to keep all those cables and cords out of your sight. The whole chair can be adjusted to different angles as per the user's comfort level and also comes with a footrest.

Those who love to livestream their gaming sessions, the middle monitor stand offers a webcam mount with support for YouTube, Twitch, and Mixer. It is packed with numerous customization options as well which include a cup holder, headset holder, seat stabilizer, and a USB hub. Lastly, the chair can also give you a good back massage after long and intense gaming sessions.
