Acer officially announces two new predator series gaming monitors

27 April 2017 4

Acer unveiled two new Predator monitors at the next@acer press event held at NewYork yesterday. Both of them are 27-inch monitors with some advanced features and specs. First one is the Predator X27 with 4K resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-SYNC support and the second one is Predator Z271UV with an 1800R curved display and Tobii eye-tracking technology.

The Predator X27 comes with Quantum Dot technology. It runs at 4K with 3840x2160 resolutions at a refreshing rate of 144 Hz. The device has 1,000 peak brightness and comes with a chiseled diamond cut build. It is available with an all-metal stand featuring adjustable tilt, swivel, and height.

The key feature of the X27 monitor is the wider HDR capability. Acer HDR Ultra technology packs 384 individually controlled LED zones with the monitor. They can be adjusted to get darker blacks as well as to increase dynamic range. This makes the X27 better than traditional HDR monitors.

Speaking about the Predator Z271UV, it comes with an 1800R curved panel and Tobii eye tracking technology. It packs a WQHD display with 2560x1440 resolutions. Acer built this monitor with ZeroFrame thin bezel design. It is best to play fast-paced video game genres due to its low responsive time of 3ms.

Predator Z271UV also works at a refreshing rate of 144 Hz. This can also be overclocked to work at 165 Hz refresh rate. Apart from all these specs and features, the monitor pack two inbuilt 7-watt RMS speakers featuring Acer TrueHarmony technology. As it has a curved display panel, it is able to put every point on the screen at nearly equal distance from the human eye.

Both monitors feature a 178-degree viewing angle (both vertically and horizontally). Apart from that, they pack Acer VisionCare technologies that reduce flickering, allow control over the amount of blue light emitted and have dimming profiles to alleviate the level eye fatigue. Predator GameView is another key feature of the monitors.

Acer didn’t reveal the price and availability of both monitors. We will be updating the article as soon as we get further information about these new Predator series monitors from Acer.
