So far this year CES show is full of new laptops, OLEDs, electric cars, active noise-canceling headphones but that doesn't mean you won't find any new smartphone. Today Alcatel took the CES stage to announce a couple of new budget-friendly smartphones including Alcatel 1x (2019) and Alcatel 1c (2019), the former is an Android Go phone running on the toned down version of Android OS.
Despite being budget-friendly phones both are packed with Full View display. As OS both are running on the Android Oreo 8.1. At the launch event, the company confirmed the Alcatel 1x will be released in Q1 2019 for the African, Middle Eastern, North American and European markets. The Android Go Alcatel 1x will be released in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe during this quarter.
As far as hardware specs are a concern the Alcatel 1x is featuring a 5.5-inches LCD display panel with HD+ screen resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. The MediaTek MT6737 SoC is powering the device with 2GB RAM. The built-in native storage is 16GB which can be further expanded using MicroSD.
On the rear side, you will get dual rear cameras, the primary sensor is 13MP with f/2.0 aperture. The secondary sensor is a depth-sensing 2MP module with f/2.4 aperture. The selfie camera on the front is 5MP with f/2.4 aperture. Both the front and rear cameras have LED flashlight. The fingerprint scanner is on the rear side. It comes with a hybrid slot for the second SIM. It has 3.5mm headphone jack and Micro-USB slot for charging and connectivity. A 3,000mAH battery is on board to keep its lights on. The device dimensions are 146.35x68.8x8.3mm and weigh 130g.

The Alcatel 1c sports a 4.95-inches display with qHD+ screen resolution of 480 x 960 pixels. The full view display aspect ratio is 2:1. Under the hood, the Spreadtrum SC7731E SoC is powering the device with 1GB RAM. The built-in native storage is 8GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB using MicroSD.
The rear side has a single camera of 5MP with an f/2.4 aperture with HDR and night mode. Up front, the selfie camera is 2MP with f/2.4 aperture. The device lights are kept on by a 2,000mAh battery. For connectivity, it has Micro-USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack. The device dimensions are 136.6x65.3x9.95mm and weigh 148g.
As far as the pricing is a concern, the Alcatel 1x will be available in Pebble Black and Blue colors at $120. The Android Go Alcatel 1c will be released in Volcano Black and Enamel Blue at a price tag of $70.

No flagship announcement this time at the CES! And probably the first time reading that a smartphone is launched!!!
These phones aren't quite exciting, though features like the Full View display puts some punch in it.
Guess, Alcatel has chosen the right platform like the CES to showcase their mid-range phones. The Alcatel 1x "Go" for its profile fits in the Oreo as of now.
