TCL at the CES 2020 event is also presenting a few interesting products, including its first 5G phone which is set to launch globally later this year. Alongside the TCL 10 5G, the company also previewed the TCL 10 Pro and the TCL 10L. TCL is only previewing the new smartphones at the CES and the full announcement will be followed at MWC in a couple of months.
The TCL 10 series is a set of mid-range devices coming to the US market in 2020. All the new smartphones feature the company’s new design for 2020, which includes quad-rear cameras, as well as TCL-made displays. They feature TCL’s NXTVISION visual technology, proprietary advanced display optimization, and camera technology for contrast enhancement in real-time and have elevated camera experience.
To start with the headliner, the TCL 10 5G is the company’s 5G smartphone that is powered by the Snapdragon 7-series 5G SoC, presumably, that means it will be the Snapdragon 765 processor.
It comes with four rear cameras, a fingerprint sensor, and a punch-hole display. It will be available for $500 and apart from the US, it will land in Canada as well.
The TCL 10 Pro is the first TCL device to feature the company’s edge AMOLED display. The company hasn’t gone into the details, but seemingly, the device is carrying an edge-to-edge AMOLED display which has an under-display fingerprint sensor and a teardrop-style notch to house the selfie camera. The primary rear camera is a 64MP sensor and another one of the sensors is a macro camera. The Verge reports that TCL was honest about the camera performance as it said it won’t be the best camera but would meet the quality of other phones in the category.
On the other hand, the TCL 10L features a punch-hole display and a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. It also carries four cameras on the back just like the 5G model and two pill-shaped LED flash at each end. The primary camera is going to be the 48MP but it too has a macro lens as well. There is information on the processor inside the TCL 10L neither is there a mention of its battery capacity.
