Amazon reportedly working on high-fidelity music streaming service

27 April 2019 3

When it comes to the availability of music streaming services available online, we get reminded of Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music Unlimited. Though there is one similarity between all these platforms is that the audio quality they offer is quite generic and doesn’t offer anywhere studio quality of sound which the production team actually developed. Now in the latest developing to raise this bar of providing better audio streaming to the end users, Amazon is working on a high fidelity music streaming service that could possibly hit the market by the end of 2019.

The company is currently in talks with the music rights owners to bring together studio-quality music experience to the users at a possible price point of $15 a month. Sharing with an online journal in this regard, a source shared, "It's a better bit rate, better than CD quality," and also "Amazon is working on it as we speak: they're currently scoping out how many catalogs they can get from everyone and how they'll ingest it."

Currently, the best hi-definition music streaming service available out there is Tidal’s HiFi plan which offers CD-quality lossless streaming with 44.1 kHz at 16 bits at a price point of $19.99 a month. Though Amazon aims for something even better though it would achieve this without partnering MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) that Tidal partners with to bring the stunning studio quality audio streaming.

If the users are getting the actual music quality as it is, studio quality as they call it, I think that would be the best hearing experience these people would be getting.
