AMD’s RX Vega 32,28 and 13 Vega 11 GPUs rumoured to launch

25 September 2017 2

The first Vega based GPUs manufactured by AMD achieved tremendous success, allowing the company to move forward on a positive note. AMD is now back with a new series of graphics cards which are based on Vega 11. These GPUs have just passed their final certification and will soon make it to various markets. Rumour has it that they will be based on Vega 11 XT and Vega 11 Pro GPUs. Everything at this point is based on speculation.

These new GPUs are set to replace AMD’s older generation of Polaris 10/20 chips found in the RX 480/470 and even the RX 580/570. This is a clear indication that AMD is going to have a few GPUs in the budget segment of the graphics card market. The company is reading them not only for desktops, but also ones which will be used in laptops. In addition to this, AMD is working on new Radeon Pro and Radeon Instinct accelerators based on the new GPU die.

It was only a few days ago that we heard of AMD’s Vega 11 GPU entering production and the order placed by them with Golbalfoundaries. More recent reports claim that 13 different GPUs based on Vega 11 passed their RRA certification in South Korea. This means that it’s only a matter of time, maybe even just a month before Vega 11 GPUs show up in the market.

The rumour surfacing online is that the two RX Vega boards based on Vega 11 will be the RX Vega 32 and Rx Vega 28. Vega 11 XT is speculated to have 2048 GCN stream processors coupled with a 1024- bit memory interface and 4GB of HBM2. On the other hand, the Vega 11 Pro is rumoured to have fewer stream processors, sitting at 1792.
