Sony Mobile is one of the major smartphone companies who have yet to announce its plans for the release of Android 8.0 Oreo for its smartphones. However, it now seems that the company has come up with a couple ideas as to when to release it. As per a report, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium will start receiving Android 8.0 Oreo updates from December.
Japan will be the first country to receive the update and we are sure that it will be seeded to other countries as well. Sony must have even planned for the release of the latest Android for its other smartphones as well, but it remains hidden as of now. We’ll keep you posted on the news as soon as we receive it.
As for the Xperia XZ Compact itself, the device sports a 5.5-inch 2160 x 3840p display powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset and Adreno 540 GPU. The smartphone has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The camera department includes 19-megapixel primary and a 13-megapixel secondary camera. The company even released a new red version in Japan yesterday.
