Android Oreo 8.0 for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ is going to come really soon as today Samsung pushed the beta for the OS. Android 8.0 Oreo has been out for months but is just getting into the hands of the Samsung's flagship smartphones. You can register to get the Beta update if you are on certain versions of the devices.
Android 8.0 for S8 and S8+ brings Samsung Experience 9.0 with nothing substantially changing. It has a number of new features courtesy of the updated Android core, though. There are launcher shortcuts, colored media notifications, and more. It's also much smoother.
Samsung has officially said in the FAQs online that the beta Android 8.0 Oreo will run only on T-Mobile, Sprint and unlocked versions of the Galaxy S8 and S8+. To sign up, you'll need to log into the Samsung+ app and look for the beta registration option at the top. If you don't see the beta registration option, don't worry, it will come eventually given that you have the right version of the device.
The update from Nougat to Oreo is about 1.4 GB of download. So backup your data before you attempt to do anything. We recommend waiting for the final public version as beta releases always bring bugs with them.
