The Samsung’s tough-and-rugged Galaxy S8 Active launched over two months ago and was made available exclusively via AT&T. There were a couple rumors that mentioned the availability of the device on other US carriers as well. Yesterday, the rumors came true, as Samsung announced that it will sell the Galaxy S8 Active on T-Mobile and Sprint as well. The device will be made on the two networks later this month in the same ‘Meteor Gray’ color. Although the availability on sprint is unknown, the S8 Active will land on T-Mobile on November 17.
The Galaxy S8 Active coming to the T-Mobile network will have full support for LTE Band 71, the spectrum that the carrier is using for its new LTE network. Apart from the LTE bands, the S8 Active is pretty much the same device as seen earlier. The internals including the Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage is right on par with the current flagships on the market. The device also has a more powerful 4,000 mAh battery (versus the 3,000 mAh one on the regular Galaxy S8) with a military-grade durable case and a shatter-resistant screen.
Sprint hasn’t yet decided on the pricing of the device, however, T-Mobile will sell the S8 Active for $30 per month over 2 years (plus $100 down), or $820 outright.
