Gaming has been through various stages and keeps evolving. At one point in time, virtual reality was a concept that was unimaginable. However, it has materialized into a reality and has actually become quite popular. Another new addition to the entire gaming scenario is augmented reality (AR) games. One of the prime examples of the success attained by augmented reality games is the famous mobile game called Pokémon Go. The makers of the game, Niantic Labs has revealed that they will be making another game based on similar lines. This will be a Harry Potter game called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
The game is co-developed by Warner Bros. Interactive and its new sub-brand Portkey Games and will release in 2018. Like Pokémon Go, it will be an AR game. If you’re unaware of what an AR game is, it is a game which integrates game visuals and audio content with the player’s surroundings and environment. It gives you the feeling of being in the world of the game without actually being there.
Exact details of the game remain a mystery as well as its official launch date. It’s safe to say that presumably the gameplay will involve a world of witchcraft and wizardry as the player passes through different challenges and locations. In addition to this, players will learn new spells, fight beasts and join forces to fight against enemies. Considering the large fan base that the books and movies have made, there’s no doubt that this game is going to make it big on the mobile platform.
