Newer images were leaked recently which bring the design aspects of the device in accordance to earlier renders. The handset features a traditional flip phone with two 4-inch screens on both sides of the upper module. The lower part of the SM-W2018 features 15 sets of keys housed alongside a circular capacitive dial.
This year we haven't seen much clamshell smartphones but the South Korean giant is amongst those manufacturers who wants to retain the form factor of clamshell smartphones. So far the company released couple of flip smartphones targetting different niches of customers in few markets. From last few months, we heard rumors the company is working on a new flagship flip smartphone. However much of the details regarding the device were dark until today. Today we have first set of live images of upcomig clamshell flagship from Samsung.
The upcoming device will be released as SM-W2018 but it is still in dark when it will be official. The device form factor and striking design surely will prompt many customers to grab one when it is announced. The leaked images showcased the device is featuring dual displays to give premium feel. The build quality also seems pretty good.
Last month we heard the company starting the testing of SM-W2018 and also the device firmware details appeared online which suggest its firmware version is W2018ZCU0AQI9. From what we know so far the SM-W2018 is featuring a 4.2-inches display with Full HD screen resolution. The Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC is powering the device with 6GB RAM and built-in storage is 64GB. The device rear primary snapper is 12MP and the front-facing selfie snapper is 5MP. A 2,300mAh battery cell is on board to keep its lights on.
So far Samsung released their Android running flip smartphones for the Chinese customers and we can expect the SM-W2018 will also be initially released for People's Republic. Stay tuned, we will keep you updated as soon as some more info regarding the device appears online.
