Samsung is working on a new 5-inch phone with an infinity display, according to rumors.
Ice Universe - a known leaker of Samsung mobile products is behind the leak. He had also revealed details of the Galaxy Note 8 before it launched. The leakster has now posted on Chinese social networking site Weibo, that Samsung is working on the 5-inch phone with the infinity display but is currently not sure if it'll release the phone or not.
The handset measures less than 5-inches, according to reports. Since usually flagship devices are usually bigger, this new 5-inch device could be quite a change from other devices. Samsung is working on its Galaxy S9 line-up which includes the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. It is possible that the company may launch a third device in the line-up, which means it could be the Galaxy S9 Mini.
There is no news whether the new device will be a premium or flagship device. It could be a mid-range smartphone as well. Samsung’s upcoming mid-tier Galaxy A5 2018 and Galaxy A7 2018 are also smartphones which will feature a bezel-less design. The phones are expected to debut at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Jan 2018.
We will keep you posted if other details of the new Samsung 5-inch infinity device emerge. It is likely to be in 2018, around the same time as the Galaxy S9. Would you be interested in purchasing the smaller 5-inch phone? Share your comments below!
