Fossil Q Control is a sporty smartwatch running Android Wear 2.0

15 November 2017 3

Fossil has been on a roll this year with so many smartwatches launches that it is almost impossible to keep a tab on each of them. And continuing with the flow, it has announced a new entrant in the market called Q Control. This is a sporty smartwatch and is aimed at those who take a keen interest in sports or any kind of outdoor activities.

The Fossil Q Control features real-time heart rate monitoring which tracks your heart rate automatically regardless of the activity you are doing. It is also water resistant and can also be used if you love swimming. There is even a special app called MySwimPro which keeps track of your swimming activities. There is also support for connecting all your fitness-related data with Google Fit and Strava.

In terms of design, it features a 45mm circular dial design with 14mm thickness. It boasts virtual touch bezels which makes it a lot easier to browse through apps and options on the smartwatch. This functionality is similar to what we have seen with the Samsung Gear S3 but the difference is that it is a virtual one on Fossil's offering. On the software front, it is running Android Wear 2.0 out of the box with both Android and iOS device compatibility. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset and offers 4GB of storage for installing apps and saving songs.

Fossil has priced the Q Control smartwatch at $275. It is currently available for purchase via online as well as offline Fossil stores if you want to get one.
