Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 5 this month. The smartphone's launch is imminent as it was spotted on Chinese retailer JD.com. The listing revealed that the phone will come with a full-screen display.

The listing of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 suggests a Yuan 8888 price, which is just symbolic and doesn’t actually reveal of the price. ‘8’ is considered a lucky number in China.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will reportedly come with a 5.9-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will come with a full-screen design with thin bezels, similar to a number of flagship devices launched by other smartphone vendors this year. The first render of the Note 5 has leaked online, which shows the sleek front of the smartphone.

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 5 will be powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor. Two variants of the Redmi Note 5 were spotted on TENAA earlier this year, with different memory and storage capacity.

The phone will be available in 2 variants, one with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage and a second with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Both will come with expandable phone memory via a microSD card slot.

Camera wise the Note 5 will feature a 12 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. Connectivity options included in the device are Bluetooth, USB, WiFi, dual-sim with dual-standby and GPS. It will run on Android 7.1 and will be backed by a 4000 mAh battery. According to the earlier TENAA leak, the smartphone will be available in a number of colors including Black, Rose Gold, White, Blue, Gold, Pink, Red, Grey and Silver options.
