Essential PH-1 camera update adds a new a Portrait Mode

30 November 2017 4

Earlier this month, Essential rolled out the November security patches for the PH-1 a month after a Pure White version of the device was released. The company also added a livestream-to-Facebook feature for its Essential 360 camera around the same time and now it’s rolling out a camera update for the Essential Phone.

Weeks after releasing Nougat factory images and Oreo beta build for the Essential PH-1, Essential is bringing in some changes to the camera software of its flagship device. The update enables a Portrait Mode inside the camera as well as a reduced JPEG compression technique which improves the quality of a picture.

There’s also an additional exposure compensation for the other camera modes. Essential has revealed that the second beta rollout of Android Oreo will kick off in a week or so. The latest update to the Camera app can be downloaded installed from the Google Play Store.

The Essential PH-1 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
