Meizu to launch 6 smartphones including Meizu M6S in H1 2018

13 December 2017 3

The Chinese smartphone maker Meizu is reported to go on a launching spree next year. The report mentions that we are likely to see six new Meizu smartphone launches within the first half of 2018. These launches are also said to include the much-rumored Meizu M6S which was previously expected to get official this week.

The details regarding these upcoming smartphones are quite scarce but we have a few of them to make some speculations. To start off, the biggest change is said to be Meizu's decision to ditch MediaTek processor and go for Qualcomm's Snapdragon series. It is said that five of these six phones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and the remaining one will have Samsung's Exynos chipset. It means there will not be even a single new smartphone from the company running MediaTek processor.

Meizu is further said to announce anniversary special smartphones Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus. These phones are said to come in early part of 2018 and sport bezel-less displays. The side-bezels are reported to be almost negligible as compared to the top and bottom ones. The smaller variant is expected to start at 2999 CNY which is about $450 and there are no words on the pricing of the Plus variant yet.

This is pretty much what we know about future plans of Meizu regarding smartphone releases. We will keep you updated as more information will appear.
