Now you can send Instagram Live Video in Direct message

22 December 2017 3

Instagram has announced a new feature which makes it possible for users to send their Live Video to friends via Direct message. The best part is that this is not limited to live videos that you stream but to any live video that you might be watching. The aim of this new feature is to encourage you to invite as many as friends as possible to join the live stream and eventually improve the user engagement.

The process of sending a Live video to any of your friends is a fairly easy one. You simply need to tap the Direct icon once the Live video is active which will be visible at the bottom. Once you do this, your select friend(s) will receive the message in their respective inbox. In a situation where any of your friends see the message once the live video is over, they will see the live video has ended text. It should also be noted that if you have a private account, your live video will be visible to your friends only if they follow you on Instagram.

This is the third new feature from Instagram in last three weeks. Prior to this, it launched features which allow users to follow hashtags and comment directly from the main feed. Instagram is appearing to be working on a number of features to make sure that users spend more and more time on the app.

As for the feature to send Live videos in Direct message, it has been made available in Instagram version 26 for both Android and iOS. You can get the latest version either by searching on your device's app store or simply clicking the links given below.
