A couple weeks ago, Xiaomi announced the Android 8.0 Oreo beta update to the Mi A1 users that have participated in the beta program. The company has now started seeding the update to select users worldwide as it is currently in the beta stage. Let’s take a look at what is new.
All the stock Android 8.0 features such as the quick settings revamp, settings app redesign, picture-in-picture, smart text selection, and notification dots, have all been introduced in the new update. The application loading time has been improved significantly and the animations are a lot better as well.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 is one of the few mid-range smartphones that is receiving the Oreo update and the dual camera setup is one of the highlighting features of it. The new beta update also brings improvements to the camera performance. As for fast charging, the device now goes from zero to 100% in 92 minutes, as compared to two hours on the previous software.
As for bugs, Xiaomi is rolling out new OTA updates fixing the major bugs. The company has rolled three OTA beta updates and the stable update seems to be just around the corner.
