Google introduced Android GO platform back in May this year. Finnish company HMD Global announced their support towards this program. Latest rumors suggest that their next entry-level Nokia-branded smartphone, Nokia 1 will be part of Android GO.

Android GO allows cheaper handsets to have the latest functionality without having the latest hardware. It's so optimized that it can run on a device having RAM between 512 MB and 1GB. It is supposed to make positive changes in localities with network coverage scarcity and expensive mobile data.

As it is powered by Android Go, Nokia 1 could be a budget-friendly device with high functionality. It will be running on a light version of Android Oreo. As per @eldarmurtazin tweet, the device will sport 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage. Apart from that, it will have a 720p HD touchscreen display.

Nokia 1 is reported to hit the markets in March 2018 with a price tag between €70 and €80. For now, that is all the information available to the public. Further features, as well as specifications of the device, will surface in the coming days, stay tuned for more updates!
