The LG G6 flagship smartphone hasn’t yet received an official Android 8.0 Oreo update anywhere in the world; however, some users in China seem to have received a beta build of the latest new Android version. As per the Machine Front Forum, users are discussing the new features and bugs in the new update. One of the users also mentioned that the supported devices for the update include almost every variant of the LG G6 and LG G6+ sold in China.
The new update brings subtle changes to the user interface, with a slightly cleaner look that somewhat resembles the changes on Samsung’s TouchWiz recently. Information displays such as battery life are now cleaner and the settings menu sports some different icons with rearranged positions. However, users have also pointed out some serious bugs in the update including the one in translation errors in the user interface and a bug that crashes some of the third-party apps. The phone can also become unresponsive all of a sudden.
As of now, there is no definite timeline for when the update will drop. The update might soon be available for China soon, considering it has received the beta now. LG will definitely improve the user interface more and sort out the bugs before rolling out the final update.
