Despite the continuous loss, the Japanese giant Sony's Mobile division is still alive and producing smartphones. Last year was quite rough for Sony because none of the company's smartphone impressed the customers. One of the reasons behind this lag is sticking to thick bezels design when most of the OEMs were bringing smartphones with thin bezels. In 2017, We have seen bezel-less smartphones from Samsung, Oppo, LG, Apple, Xiaomi, Vivo, and Huawei but Sony yet to enter in this arena.
In last few days a couple of Sony branded smartphones appear online. These smartphones are Xperia XA2 Ultra and Xperia L2 and both the devices are recently certified by Malaysian regulator. This clearly indicates the company is getting ready to announce these two devices. Today the guys behind @OnLeak shared exclusive renders and videos of Xperia L2 with Price Raja to highlights the design details of the upcoming mid-ranger.
Despite the fact, most of the Sony fans are eagerly waiting for the bezel-less smartphone from Sony but it seems like the company is still not ready to adopt the latest trend. The Xperia L2 have same thick bezels design, On first look, it doesn't look much different from the predecessor. The renderer suggests the Xperia L2 dimensions are 149.9 mm x 78.4 mm x 9.8 mm.
The L2 is featuring a 5.5-inches display. The company sticks to the single rear camera design on both front and rear side. The fingerprint scanner is shifted to the rear side. The Qualcomm's Snapdragon 630 SoC is expected to power up the device with 4GB RAM. As OS it will have Android Nougat instead of the latest Android Oreo. As far as launch is a concern, the Xperia L2 most likely will be announced at the CES 2018. Stay tuned, we will keep you updated.
