Despite the fact, the Canadian giant Blackberry is not designing or manufacturing any new hardware product but that doesn't mean the BlackBerry fans won't see any new smartphone from their favorite brand. Most of you are already aware BlackBerry joins hand with TCL for the hardware production and the company today announced at least couple of new BlackBerry branded smartphones will be released this year. TCL releases the statement at the CES show.
TCL mobile division global general manager Alain Lejeune stated :
“It has been less than one year since we formally introduced the world to our all-new BlackBerry smartphones and we’ve seen very strong renewed interest thanks to devices like BlackBerry KEYone and BlackBerry Motion, With new BlackBerry smartphones from TCL Communication now available in over 50 countries around the world, we have a solid foundation to continue building upon our portfolio in the new year. This means customers can expect to see at least two new BlackBerry smartphones from us later this year.”
BlackBerry's mobility solution general manager and senior VP Alex Thurber confirms the rollout of the Android Oreo for BlackBerry devices. Back on November 6th, 2015, BlackBerry announced Priv is the last smartphone designed and manufactured by the company, later on in 2016 the company signed a long-term agreement with the TCL for producing and designing of BlackBerry branded smartphones.
So far TCL released a number of BlackBerry-branded smartphones running on Android OS including DTEK 50, DTEK 60, KEYone and last but not the least Motion smartphone. All these smartphones having a touchscreen display, Android OS with BlackBerry's security suite baked.
