Ulefone has launched the Armor 2S, a cheaper version of the Armor 2 rugged phone which was launched last year.
The Ulefone Armor 2S phone has a 5-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has a dust and waterproof body with IP68 certification, which means that the phone can last up to 1.5-meter depth in the water for an hour or 1-meter depth in concrete for 24 hours. The company says that the Armor 2S is highly compact and has a sealed structure. It is made of flexible TPU, with a glass fiber reinforced polycarbonate and metal body that comes with protective nubs which cover the four corners of the phone. These provide an all-around protection from any accidental drops or falls.
Under the hood, the Ulefone Armor 2S is powered by a quad-core MediaTek SoC with 2GB of RAM. The phone has a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and Sony IMX135 sensor. It has 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity options included in the phone are 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C and NFC. It runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) out of the box. The phone has a fingerprint sensor on the front that can unlock the phone in just 0.1 seconds, according to the company. The rugged device is backed by a powerful 4700mAh battery with fast charging. It is available in Dark Gray, Golden, Green, and Red colors. The Ulefone Armor 2S is priced at $199.99 and is available across online retailers.
