Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 receiving Android Oreo update

Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 have started receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update, the company officially announced the rollout. Nokia 6 (2018) went official earlier this month and in just a few days since its launch, the device is having its first major software update.

HMD Global confirmed the news via its official Weibo account that the update has been released for both second-gen Nokia 6 as well as Nokia 7. The company has brought this delightful news for the users with old Nokia 6 smartphones. The company is delivering the update to them too. The company is running the beta program on the device now.


The Oreo update will bring Oreo features, these include picture-in-picture support, Autofill, notification dots, Instant apps, and more.

To the uninitiated ones, Nokia 7 features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with full HD resolution and Nokia 6 (2018) comes with a 5-inch full HD IPS LCD display. Both the devices are powered by Snapdragon 630 processor and pack 4GB RAM, though the latter also comes with 6GB RAM option. Both smartphones feature 16-megapixel rear-facing cameras, 4G LTE + VoLTE, and Bluetooth 5.0.

Nokia 7 launched in China back in October is expected to reach other markets as well, especially India, according to a few reports.
