Xiaomi resumes Mi A1 Android Oreo update roll out

16 January 2018 2

Xiaomi has resumed the rollout of Mi A1 Android Oreo update after halting it due to a number of performance issues. The update was paused four days ago which shows that the team took the matter seriously and resumed the rollout within such a small time frame. There is no official changelog for the update yet but it is said to bring a bunch of bug fixes and January 2018 security patch.

The latest update bears the version number OPR1.170623.026.8.1.10 and the exact size varies depending on what Android version your device is running. If you are on Android Oreo, you will get an 89MB update but for those who are on Android Nougat, they will receive a whopping 1112.4MB update. It is an OTA update which is being rolled out in phases. It means it might take some time for the update on your particular device but once it becomes available, you will receive the update notification.

The previous Oreo-based update for Mi A1 was plagued with a bunch of issues like Bluetooth battery draining, fingerprint scanner gestures not working, an unresponsive camera application, dialer app unresponsive, ambient light sensor issue, and inability to interact with ambient display notifications. This latest update is expected to bring all such issues and any other bugs that were interfering with the day-to-day usage.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
