The HTC One M9, the company's flagship smartphone for 2015, is now on the road to get the latest version of Android, i.e. Oreo 8.0. The announcement comes from Australian telephone company Optus, which has put up a list of devices that will be getting the update, on its website.
The update is also expected to bring with it a fix for the KRACK vulnerability. It is currently being tested, and should be rolled out by late February or early March.
This is great news for M9 owners, considering that the device is now three years old. It originally came with Android Lollipop 5.0, which will make Oreo the third major update for the phone, which is remarkable - most smartphone companies do not extend Android version updates to more than two years (including Google).
