Xiaomi Redmi 1s and Redmi Note receiving MIUI 9.2 update

06 February 2018 4

Xiaomi Redmi 1s and Redmi Note have started receiving the MIUI 9.2, which is the final update. The company has made it official that this is the last update for the devices that were launched in 2014 and 2015. Xiaomi is rolling out MIUI 9.2 update directly instead of MIUI 9.

Prior to this update, these devices were running MIUI 8.5, which was released six months ago. The MIUI 9.2 update is still based on Android KitKat, not the latest Android Oreo. But the features it brings add a new life to the devices. For instance, App Vault, which lets you secure your media files.

The MIUI 9.2 also includes an interactive and fresh user interface. There’s a new Gallery app, Calendar Cards, App Vault, Mi Video App, as well as an all-new Mi Explorer.

The new version for Redmi 1S is MIUI 9.2.2.0.KHCMIEK while the Redmi Note is receiving MIUI 9.2.2.0.KHIMIEK and the update are for Redmi Note Prime as well, and this is getting MIUI 9.2.3.0.KHKMIEK.

The size of the update is around 150-200MB. Sadly, the security patch isn’t latest and the devices are still running the older October 2016 security patch.

The update is currently rolling out in phases and is expected to be rolled out to all users by the end of the week. But, if you can’t wait for the update then you can flash it manually by downloading the Redmi 1S MIUI 9.2 update zip file.

The complete changelog is available on the company’s official forum. So, head over to the link provided below and see what else changes does this MIUI 9.2 bring to your devices.

Just for the MIUI 9.2? Umm... Don't think so. These phones had 1GB and 2GB RAM respectively. And the other specs are also a bit secondary to RN 4.
