Asus is also attending the MWC 2018 event and according to its media invites the company may showcase Zenfone 5 series on February 27th. Now, according to a new hearsay circulating the web suggests that company has a high-performance gaming smartphone to launch as well.
Asus has a great experience in making gaming laptops under the ROG brand and this must be helping the company to embed high-performance in a smartphone as well. The smartphones’ era has changed a lot; there are powerful processors now and the companies have started using better RAM sizes so it’s the best time to leverage. No further details of this suspicious device have been surfaced yet.
Talking about the launch event, the company may launch high-end Zenfone 5 smartphones, which include Zenfone 5, Zenfone Max Pro M1, and Zenfone 5z in the first half of 2018.
All these suspected smartphones will offer dual cameras on rear and 18:9 full-screen display on the front. While the Zenfone 5 and Zenfone Max Pro M1 may go on sale in March, the Zenfone 5z is expected to go on sale coming later in June. The ZenFone 5 and ZenFone Max Pro M1 will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core mobile platform with custom Kryo CPU and Adreno 509 GPU.
Talking about the Zenfone 5z, it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor. It will be running the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update out of the box with custom Zen UI. If the recent leaks are to be considered, the Zenfone 5 may feature an iPhone X-like notch on the top.

Great to see that the entire range of the Zenfone phones will sport both 18:9 ratio with dual camera.
Not a single word on flagship, but still this is interesting to see the ration with two cameras at the back.
I'll really happy to see a ROG gaming phone from Asus. It's quite pleasurable to go back to classics.
