Honor 6X update enables VoLTE support for all carriers in India

15 February 2018 2

Honor India has started to release a new software update for its Honor 6X mid-ranger. While this is not a huge update, it does bring a major feature which would be appreciated by many users. The update enables VoLTE support for all Indian carriers which means more options to choose for users.

It should be noted that the Honor 6X did feature VoLTE support earlier but it was restricted only to Reliance Jio. It means if you were to use VoLTE services from other carriers like Airtel or Idea, you would not have been able to do so. This new update fixes the issue and makes it possible for the device to offer VoLTE connectivity as long as that particular carrier supports it.

This new Honor 6X update weighs 567MB in size and is available for the BLN-L22 model number. It is advised to be connected to WiFi before you start downloading the update. If you have not received the update yet, you should be getting it anytime soon. You can also look for the same manually by visiting phone's settings.

To give you an overview, the Honor 6X sports a 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS IPS LCD display. Under the hood, it has the 2.1GHz HiSilicon Kirin 655 processor coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. On the back, it has 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel dual cameras with phase detection autofocus and LED flash. It also has an 8-megapixel camera on the front for taking selfies. The phone offers 32GB of 64GB of internal storage with support for microSD card expansion.
The whole package is powered by a 3340mAh battery and while it ships with Android Marshmallow 6.0, it is upgradeable to the latest Nougat 7.0. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back.
The Honor 6x isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
