During the MWC 2018 launch event, HMD Global took the stage to announce Nokia 8 Sirocco. This is basically the Nokia 8 flagship but with a premium design, higher storage, and more RAM among other improvements. All-in-all, this new variant is all about offering premium features and specs to users who want the best of everything.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco boasts a stainless steel frame with a curved glass finish. The frame is claimed at to be 2.5 times stronger than 6000 series aluminum. It has a thickness of 7.5mm which reduces to just 2mm around the edges. It sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD pOLED edge-to-edge display to complete a product design which is indeed a head turner. The fingerprint scanner has also been moved to the back in an attempt to make bezels as minimal as possible.
It further boasts Dual-Sight Zeiss optics and Nokia spatial audio for a premium music listening experience. It sports IP67 certification for dust and water resistance along with wireless charging support. Following the trend, HMD Global has further included the facial recognition support. In comparison to the standard variant, users will find 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage with this special variant.
Other specifications of the Nokia 8 Sirocco include Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It has a 12-megapixel (wide-angle) and 13-megapixel (telephoto) dual camera setup with f/1.75 and f/2.6 aperture respectively. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. It also supports Bothie photo mode for those who love using it. The whole package is powered by a 3260mAh battery and will be shipping with Android Oreo. It is worth mentioning that there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on this special variant and it comes only in Black color option.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco has been priced at 749 Euros with availability starting April 2018.
