Instagram is one of those apps which is known for receiving new features at regular intervals. And now, a new TechCrunch report suggests that it is actually getting prepared to release a Portrait mode-like feature in the near future. The report is based on a spotted icon image shared by Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) with the publication.

Agarwal basically decompiled the latest Instagram APK to find some new things. This is when he spotted the new icon image labeled as portrait_shutter_icon.png which suggests that Instagram is actually working on a Portrait mode-like feature. This means that Instagram users will soon be able to capture Portrait shots directly from within the app.

It is worth mentioning that this feature has been spotted only in APK teardown which means there is no surety if this feature will actually be released. App companies are known for working on and testing features but eventually scrapping them for a reason that could be anything. Instagram has not commented on the report for obvious reasons which means we will have to wait and see if the feature comes to reality anytime soon.

In other news, Instagram has also been spotted working on video and audio calls. This speculation is also based on the APK teardown where a bunch icons were seen referring to calling functionality. While Instagram has added many unexpected features to the app in the past, it could be the most unexpected feature coming to the app if it gets released to the public.
