Meizu E3 launch confirmed for March 21 | UPD: hands-on video leaks

14 March 2018 4

UPDATE (March 14th, 2018):

The upcoming Meizu E3 smartphone has appeared in a hands-on video ahead of the launch. The leaked video is in the Chinese language which makes it hard to make sense of what is going on. The video host can be seen holding both Meizu E3 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus which means it is safe to assume that some kind of comparison is going on. But considering the price difference between the two phones, it is again hard to tell exactly what comparison he would be making.

Either way, you can check out the Meizu E3 hands-on video for yourself:

Original (March 13th, 2018):

Meizu recently announced that it will launch the Meizu E3 smartphone on March 21 in Beijing at the National Convocation Centre at 21:30 PM local time. According to a new report by GizmoChina, this upcoming device will be Redmi Note 5 killer phone. Let’s take a look at what the new device has to offer us.

The Meizu E3 is said to sport a Snapdragon 636 SoC running alongside 6GB of RAM. This directly competes with the same processor clocked at 1.8GHz inside the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Meizu E3 is also speculated to feature the Sony IMX363 sensor in the camera module.

The TENAA certification of the Meizu E3 revealed that the device will sport a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with FullHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio, powered by a 3,300 mAh battery. The device will also be available in a 4GB RAM variant, with the storage options of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. The memory can further be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

The Meizu E3 will feature a dual rear camera with a combination of 12MP + 2MP sensors accompanied by an 8-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies and video calls. The device will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat (seriously?) with Flyme OS 6.2 skin on top. As for connectivity, the device will support 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GLONASS, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and a microUSB port. The device is said to start from 2,299 Yuan (roughly $363).
